How do I activate a Mint Mobile SIM card and get a new phone number?
Activating a Mint Mobile plan and getting a new phone number is easy as f*! (we said fox).
Note:
- If you’re activating with eSIM, please see How to activate a Mint Mobile plan with eSIM.
- Make sure to connect to Wi-Fi to avoid interruptions during the activation process.
Activating in the Mint Mobile app
- Download the Mint Mobile app
- Open the app and select “Activate your SIM card.”
- The app will automatically verify your phone’s compatibility before going to the next step
- Enter the 11-digit ACT code on the back of your SIM card and tap “Continue”
- Select “Get a new one” to request a new phone number; we’ll generate one based on your local ZIP code
- Enter your name and email address to set up your “Account information”
- When activation is done, you will see a message that says “Plan Activated” and your new number will be displayed
- Create your Mint Mobile account password to finish setting up your account
- Insert your newly activated Mint SIM card
9. If you don’t get a signal right away, restart your phone. You should see those bars pop right up.
Now, not only are you fully activated, but you’re also logged into the Mint Mobile app, where you can manage your plan, view your usage, refer friends to Mint and change your auto renewal settings from anywhere.
Activating on the Mint Mobile website
If you prefer to activate your Cleverness Kit (full plan) via the website, follow these steps:
- Go to mintmobile.com/activate
- Enter the 11-digit ACT code on the back of your SIM card and click “Get Started”
- Click “Get a new number,” and we’ll generate one based on your local ZIP code
- It will ask you again to confirm you would like to “Get a new number”
- Enter your name and email address to set up your “Account information”
- When activation is done, you’ll see a message that says “Plan Activated” and your new number will be displayed
- Create your Mint Mobile account password to finish setting up your account
- Insert your newly activated Mint SIM card
