How do I activate a Mint Mobile plan with eSIM?

If your phone supports Mint Mobile eSIM and you’ve selected ‘eSIM Delivery’ at checkout, you can activate a plan in minutes without having to wait for a physical SIM card to be shipped to you.

Tip: During the activation process, you’ll have the option to transfer your current phone number or get a new one. If you’re transferring your current number, be sure to grab some information from your current carrier first, like your account number, PIN or passcode, and billing address associated with your phone.

How to activate eSIM in the Mint Mobile app

Activating with eSIM is easiest in the Mint Mobile app. Download the Mint Mobile app to your phone, open it and select “Activate your SIM card.” The app should detect if your phone is eSIM compatible and walk you through activating your plan and installing your eSIM in minutes.

How to activate eSIM on the Mint Mobile website

Once you’ve confirmed your phone is eSIM compatible and you’ve purchased a plan with “eSIM Delivery,” you’ll find yourself on the order confirmation page. You can click “Activate Now” if you want to get your plan going immediately, or you can wait and activate when you’re ready via the link we email to you.

When you’re ready to activate your plan and install your eSIM, just follow these steps:

  • Activate your plan: Click “Activate Now” on the order confirmation page if you wish to activate your plan immediately after purchase. If you want to wait, you can activate via the link we email you at your leisure.
  • Install your eSIM:
    • Scan the QR code with the phone you plan to use with your Mint Mobile service
      • iPhone users should scan the QR code with their camera
      • Android users may need to navigate to their camera settings to enable “Scan QR codes”
    • If you accidentally close the window before scanning the code, no worries. We include it in your confirmation email 
    • If your phone is frozen on “Cellular Plan” after scanning the QR code, close the window on your phone and scan the QR code again
