There are no stupid questions, just frequently asked ones.

All of our full plans and Starter Kits feature a 7-Day Money Back Guarantee for all purchases made on or using the app. You can cancel your service for any reason within 7 days of activation and we will refund you 100% of the purchase price, including any fees and taxes. Shipping is not refunded.

Got an unused SIM card? We’ll honor returns for these within 10 days of purchase. It must be returned in its original unopened packaging and the SIM card must not be activated (condition counts—we aren’t called Mint for nothing).

Right now, only select eligible Apple iPhones and Google Pixel devices can use an eSIM on Mint, and the device must be unlocked.

If you are on an iPhone, and using iTunes/iCloud to transfer your data from one phone to another, then your current eSIM will also be transfered.

If you are swithching from one iPhone to another, and choosing not to transfer your data over by using the ‘set up as new phone’ option, then you will need a new eSIM. First make sure that your new device will be eligible with a Mint eSIM, and is unlocked. If not, then you will need to switch back to a physical SIM.

When you have your new eligible device follow the below steps:
1. Open the Mint app on your new device
2. Order via the app. Select ‘Change device’
3. Activate and Install

When you switch to a new eSIM you will keep you current plan and number. No change there.

With our Bring Your Own Phone (BYOP) program, you can easily get Mint Mobile service on your current device. Just switch out the SIM card and presto.
Compatible BYOP devices include:
– Most unlocked, GSM-network phones
– Unlocked AT&T, T-Mobile, Cricket Wireless, Simple Mobile, and Straight Talk phones
– Most phones with a SIM card
You may need to hit up your carrier to unlock your phone.
If you’re still not sure if your phone will work with Mint Mobile, visit Once there, enter your phone’s brand and model, U.S. for country and, under “Carrier,” choose our partner company, Ultra Mobile. (This, however, does not guarantee if the device is unlocked or that the phone will work with our service).

The IMEI is the serial number that uniquely identifies your mobile phone. In the event that your phone is lost or stolen, reporting the IMEI will completely block service to the phone. To access your phone’s IMEI for your own personal records, please dial *#06# on your phone’s keypad. The IMEI will be displayed on the screen.

If you’re on a prepaid or pay-as-you-go plan, your phone is probably unlocked; however, if you’re on a two-year contract or something similar, your phone is probably carrier-locked until you finish paying it off.

The most reliable way to determine whether or not your phone is unlocked is by calling your current carrier and asking them to verify your phone’s status. You will most likely need to provide your account password (if applicable) and your phone’s IMEI number. You can find this on most phones by dialing *#06# on your keypad.

Phones need to be unlocked prior to activating your Mint Mobile service.

When you are shopping for a new phone, there are a few things you want to look for to make sure you’ll get the most awesome experience on Mint. Check that it is 4G LTE compatible, and is VoLTE friendly. You might want to think about getting a 5G compatible phone, though it is not essential to work on our network.

If the phone has bands 2, 4, 12 and 71, then that is ideal.

Super easy, we have a tool for that. Head over to our Bring Your Own Phone page, and enter your IMEI number (your phone’s ID – we give you instructions on how to find). We can then tell you if we are Mint to be or not.

The older your phone, the less likely it supports 4G LTE and VoLTE which is needed to work on Mint’s network. If you are not sure if your phone supports 4G LTE and VoLTE, then we have an easy-to-use tool that allows you to check. Head to Bring Your Own Phone page by clicking here, enter your IMEI number (we give you instructions on how to find it). We can then tell you if we are Mint to be or not.

If you checked your phone using our compatibilty tool, and found that your phone won’t work on Mint, then we have a fox ton of Android and iPhones available on All of these phones support 4G LTE and VoLTE, and work perfectly with our network. Even bettter you can find some starting at under $100. If you have any questions then call or chat with our care humans and they will help you out.
