Once you decide to buy a full plan, we’ll subtract the $5 from the total cost of your new plan!

Use SIM 1 to activate the trial plan. This SIM will create a new number for you to use while you’re giving us a try.

Once you’ve finished your trial plan, you can purchase a full plan directly in the app. Just pick one of these 2 options:

Use my new Mint number — the phone number created for you on your trial plan will be your new number! All you need to do is purchase your full plan through the app and you’re good to go.
Transfer my existing number – to transfer your number, remove SIM 1 and insert SIM 2. Follow the instructions on the app to transfer your number.

Once you’re ready to transfer your number, remove SIM 1 and insert SIM 2 to get started.

To transfer your current phone number to Mint, simply select the option ‘Transfer My Number’ during activation. We suggest prepping before activation as you’ll need some information from your old carrier:

Your current account number. This can be found on your billing statement, or just hit them up to get it
The corresponding password, pass code or PIN code number.
The billing address associated with the account.

Unfortunately, once a plan is activated we can’t transfer your number to your current Mint account. So make sure you do it at activation.

Note: your phone number may take up to 48 hours to complete and landlines can take up to 5 business days. If you have any questions regarding your transfer, email support@mintmobile.com. Once the number has been successfully transferred, we will we send you an SMS and confirmation email. Aight?

FYI, Mint does not charge a fee for transferring your number, but your less-cool, old school carrier might.

To buy a full plan from the Starter Kit, insert SIM 1 and activate your trial plan through our Mint Mobile app. From there, you can keep your new Mint phone number or use switch SIM 1 with SIM 2 to transfer your own phone number to Mint.
