CHILDREN’S PRIVACY NOTICE

This Mint Mobile, LLC, (“Mint Mobile,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides wireless services that may be used by a Child or Children (anyone under the age of majority in their state of residence) through accounts established by a parent or legal guardian. Mint Mobile does not knowingly provide wireless services to Children or collect personal information from a Child without the consent of the Child’s parent or legal guardian. This Children’s Privacy Notice (“Notice”) explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information in connection with a Child’s use of Mint Mobile services when Mint Mobile has actual knowledge that a Child is using the service.

This Notice supplements our Privacy Notice, available at Privacy Policy | Mint Mobile, which describes our broader data practices, and the Mint Mobile Plan Terms & Conditions, available at Terms & Conditions | Mint Mobile. If there is a conflict, the terms providing greater protections for Children’s information will control.

Information We Collect About Children

Mint Mobile does not knowingly collect, use, or disclose personal information from or about Children without the permission of their parent or guardian. With that permission, Mint Mobile may collect personal information from or about a Child directly when a parent or guardian activates a line or any other mobile wireless service on behalf of a Child. We might also collect data automatically if a Child uses the products or services we offer, as authorized by the parent or guardian.

We use Children’s personal information to fulfill the purposes described in this notice, including providing wireless services, maintaining the Child’s account or line, improving our products and services, monitoring and protecting the security of our network and services, complying with legal obligations or responding to lawful requests, and additional purposes set forth below.

We generally do not enable Children to make personal data publicly available, but they can call and send messages to others when using mobile devices.

Generally, Mint Mobile retains Children’s personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide services and fulfill the purposes described in this Notice, unless a longer retention period is required by law. When children’s information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or anonymize the information.

The exact retention periods vary depending on the type of information and applicable operational needs and legal requirements, as set forth below.

Account and Subscriber Information

Information collected

We collect account and subscriber information, like

Wireless phone number assigned to the line
A Child’s first and last name
Zip code
Account nickname or profile label associated with the line
Parent or guardian name and contact information, including contact phone number and email address
Billing name, billing address and payment account information associated with the parent or legal guardian who is the account holder
A physical address (for example, a physical address that may be provided for shipping or an E911 address)

Purpose of collection

Account and subscriber information is primarily used to:

Establish and manage the wireless service account
Activate and maintain service for the line
Provide customer support and account communications
Process billing and payments
Maintain required telecommunications records
Conduct fraud checks
Assist with account recovery

Retention

Our policy is to retain account and subscriber information for the duration of the service relationship, information about the Child for one year after a Child’s account is terminated, and payment information for three years after account termination and purchase, unless we are required to retain the information longer in order to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain business and telecommunications records.

Network and Device Information

Information collected

We collect network and device information, such as

IP address
Device identifiers (such as IMEI or device model)
Network identifiers
System and diagnostic logs
Geolocation data that may tell us the approximate location of your Child’s mobile device.
App and service performance

Purpose of collection

This information is primarily used to:

Support internal operations, including maintaining or analyzing app functionality, protecting the security and integrity of the app, debugging and identifying errors, and generating aggregated, non-personal analytics about app usage
Provide wireless connectivity and network services
Maintain network performance and reliability
Prevent fraud, abuse, or unauthorized access
Protect the security and integrity of Mint Mobile systems

Retention

Our policy is to retain network and device information for the duration of the service relationship and for one year after a Child’s account is terminated unless needed longer for operational, security, fraud prevention, or compliance purposes for the period reasonably necessary to fulfill these purposes.

Service Usage Information

Information collected

We collect service usage information, such as

Data usage associated with the wireless line
Service activity and interactions with the account
Data about a Child’s use of our voice services, like the type, location, destination, and amount of voice calling they use, plus call detail information.
WiFi logs

Purpose of collection

This information is primarily used to:

Provide telecommunications services
Monitor service performance and usage
Manage plan limits and service functionality
Maintain billing and operational records
Improve service reliability and quality

Some service usage information may constitute Customer Proprietary Network Information (CPNI) under U.S. telecommunications laws and is handled in accordance with applicable legal requirements.

Retention

Our policy is to retain call detail records for the duration of the service relationship and for 60 days after a Child’s account is terminated. Other usage information may be retained for the duration of the service relationship and for one year after a Child’s account is terminated unless a longer retention period is necessary for operational, billing, regulatory, or business recordkeeping purposes or as required by applicable law or reasonably necessary to provide the service. Our wireless services are provided using the network of an underlying mobile network operator and may involve other service providers, as described below.

Customer Support Information

Information collected

If a parent or guardian contacts customer support regarding a Child’s line, we may collect customer support information, like:

Contact information
Messages and communications submitted to support
Information provided to resolve the issue

We may also collect audio information from a Child from calls they might make to Care.

Purpose of collection

This information is primarily used to respond to inquiries, troubleshoot service issues, and provide customer assistance.

Retention

Our policy is to retain customer support records for operational and recordkeeping purposes for a reasonable period after the issue is resolved.

How We Share Children’s Information

We may disclose Children’s personal information in the following circumstances:

A. Service Providers

We may share information with vendors and service providers that support our operations, such as:

Network operators and infrastructure providers
Vendors that assist with network monitoring and service delivery
Payment processors and billing providers
Service providers that assist with account management, support requests and service operations
Cloud hosting and infrastructure providers
Customer support providers
Fraud detection or security vendors
Telecommunications partners involved in routing and delivering service

These providers are contractually required to safeguard personal information.

B. Parent or Guardian

We may make the Child’s information available to the parent or guardian associated with the account, including activity reports, location information, settings, and usage data.

C. Network and Telecommunications Partners

Information may be shared with other telecommunications carriers when necessary to route calls, enable roaming services, or provide network connectivity.

D. Legal or Safety Purposes

We may disclose information:

To comply with law, legal process, or regulatory obligations
To enforce our terms and policies
To protect the safety, rights, or property of Mint Mobile, our customers, or others
To detect, prevent, investigate or respond to fraud, misuse of services, security or technical issues

E. Corporate Transactions

Information may be transferred in connection with a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or sale of assets.

Verifiable Parental Consent

Before collecting personal information from a Child, Mint Mobile requires verifiable parental consent.

This consent confirms that a parent or legal guardian authorizes Mint Mobile to collect, use, and disclose the Child’s information as described in this Notice. In accordance with federal regulations, we will require you to provide us with your credit card information and authorize us to make a nominal charge that will appear on your credit card statement, to verify that you have provided this consent.

Parents may revoke their consent at any time by contacting Mint Mobile customer support at (800) 683-7329. If consent is withdrawn, we may terminate the associated service and delete the Child’s information in accordance with the terms of this Notice, subject to legal or business retention obligations.

If consent is not provided within a reasonable time after we request it, we will delete the parent’s contact information and will not activate the Child’s account.

Parental Rights and Choices

Parents and legal guardians have the following choices regarding their Child’s personal information:

Review the personal information collected from their Child
Request correction of inaccurate information
Request deletion of the Child’s information
Withdraw consent to the continued collection or use of the Child’s information

A parent or guardian may revoke their consent at any time, resulting in termination of the Child’s service, by contacting Mint Customer Service at: (800) 683-7329. If consent is revoked, Mint Mobile may delete the information except where retention is required for legal, regulatory, or business purposes. In the case of wireless services (e.g., Mint Kids Plan) we provide, the only way for us to stop a Child’s data from being collected will be to shut down the associated Child’s phone line. We also will instruct third parties who may have access to this data to delete the data although in some cases deletion of this data may be subject to those third parties’ own data retention policies which may differ from ours.

Changes to This Children’s Privacy Notice

We may update this Children’s Privacy Notice from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements.
