If you’re a Mint Mobile subscriber looking to change your phone number, there are a few things you should know. Here are answers to the most common questions regarding number changes:

How do I change my Mint number?

You will have to call our Care team at (800) 683-7392 to request a number change. They will have you go through a short verification process before initiating your number change.

Are there any restrictions to changing my number?

Mint subscribers are allowed to request one number change within a six-month period. 

Can I choose my new number?

No, your new phone number will be randomly generated based on your ZIP code and we can’t guarantee a specific area code. Once your number has been changed, it cannot be changed back.

Is there a charge for changing my number?

No, there’s no charge to change your phone number.

How long does it take for the change to occur?

As soon as the agent processes the change, the new number will be effective immediately.

Will I lose my contacts or messages?

No, changing your phone number will have no effect on anything else in the phone itself. Your friends & family will have to update your contact info in their phones though, of course.
