How to activate a replacement SIM If you’re replacing a physical SIM card with a new SIM, you either remove the old SIM, if it’s the same phone, or just add in the replacement SIM to your new device once you activate. Here’s how to to activate a replacement SIM card once you receive it in the mail: Connect to Wi-Fi and open the Mint Mobile app Go to Account on the bottom left hand corner Scroll down to SIM Card Click Activate replacement SIM Enter the 19-digit SIM card number Enter the Verification code that was sent to your number You should see a message on the next screen that says “Card Activated” once it loads Now, you can turn your phone off, insert your replacement SIM into your phone’s SIM card slot and turn it back on How to activate a replacement eSIM If you are replacing either an eSIM or physical SIM with an eSIM, you can only activate a replacement eSIM through the Mint Mobile app Here are the instructions on how to activate a replacement eSIM: Connect to Wi-Fi and open the Mint Mobile app Go to Account on the bottom left hand corner Scroll down to SIM Card Click Order replacement SIM Select Replace your current eSIM Tap Checkout You can replace and activate an eSIM at the same time since you don’t have to wait for a physical SIM in the mail Tap I’m connected to Wi-Fi A pop-up will appear asking if you are connected to Wi-Fi to continue and a verification code will be sent to your phone number You will be directed to enter the Verification Code sent to you via SMS and click Continue to officially start activation of your eSIM Click Let’s install your eSIM and click Continue Select Scan QR code or Enter QR code manually Go to Settings on your phone Once installed, click I’ve completed installation Every user gets 5 free eSIM replacements every 12 months.
