Configure your MMS & Data Settings – iPhone

I have a recent iPhone device (iPhone 5S, SE, 6 or Above)

If you are using a newer device running iOS 12.0 or higher, your data and MMS settings will be automatically updated as long as you have updated your carrier settings.

To ensure your carrier settings are up to date, go to Settings > General > About > Carrier.
If prompted to update your carrier settings, select Update.

When you update your carrier settings, you will also enable these other features:

VISUAL VOICEMAIL

Our iOS customers have been asking for visual voicemail for a while—and now we have it! You can access visual voicemail via the voicemail tab on your dialer.

WIFI CALLING & TEXT

Now you can talk over a WiFi network, which means you no longer have to rely on network coverage alone for your calling and texting needs. Got access to WiFi? You’re good to go!

VoLTE ENABLED CALLING

VoLTE (aka Voice Over LTE) lets you connect calls over the LTE network. That’s fancy talk for better quality and faster connection times for your calls!

Which devices can support iOS 12.0?

iPhone models 5S, SE, 6 and up are capable of installing iOS 12.0. Older models, aren’t compatible with 12.0, and therefore won’t be compatible with these new features. This includes the iPhone 5, 5c, 4S and below.

How do I check what version of iOS I am on?

To make sure you are on the 12.0 version or above, go to Settings > General > About and check under Version.

How do I set up Visual Voicemail?

Your voicemails won’t immediately appear in your Visual Voicemail screen, even if you currently have messages in your inbox. They will appear once you get a new message, so we recommend you leave yourself a voicemail message after updating your Carrier Settings.
