Can I bring my current phone number to Mint Mobile?

Yes, you can bring your current phone number over to Mint Mobile. After you purchase your Mint Mobile plan, you will need to go through the activation process. When you initiate activation, you’ll be given the option to bring your number or get a new one. To transfer your current phone number to Mint, simply select the option ‘Transfer My Number’ and follow the steps to bring your number to Mint while you activate your plan.

ATTN: Do NOT cancel your old service until you transfer your number to Mint Mobile. If you cancel your old service before the transfer is complete, your number will be lost.

Here are a few things you will need from your old carrier:

1. Your current account number. This can be found on your billing statement or you may have to reach out to your current carrier to get this info
2. The corresponding PIN or “Number Transfer PIN” associated with your account
3. The billing ZIP code associated with your account

Note: Most transfers complete in just a few hours, but if any information is submitted incorrectly, your phone number could take up to 48 hours to complete, and landlines can take up to five business days. Once the number has been successfully transferred, we’ll send you a text and email confirmation. FYI, Mint does not charge a fee for transferring your number, but your less-cool, old school carrier might.
