Transfer your number to Mint Mobile in three easy foxing steps
- Make sure your phone and number can transfer to the Mint side
- Grab details from your current carrier (via the tool below or keep scrolling to our A to Z list of how to transfer your number by carrier)
- Log in to your account with your previous carrier, or give them a call.
- Locate your account number.
- Get your PIN or Number Transfer PIN (depending on the carrier) associated with your account.
- Make sure you know the billing address including ZIP code.
- Activate on mintmobile.com/activate
Tips for transferring your phone number to Mint Mobile
Don’t worry, it’s much easier to understand than crypto.
- Keep your current service’s SIM card in so you won’t miss any calls or texts (even the ones you want to miss on purpose).
- Once we send you confirmation that your transfer is complete, make sure your new Mint Mobile SIM card is in your phone to continue to receive calls and texts to your number.
- Remember: checking eligibility doesn’t affect your current service. You can check as many numbers as you need to without interrupting your service. Heck, check your friends’, too and then refer them to Mint if they’re eligible.

How to transfer your number by carrier (A to Z list)
A
AT&T Wireless
- Account number
- To find your account number, look in the top-right corner of your bill, or go to myAT&T Profile and scroll to My linked accounts.
- PIN number
- To request your Number Transfer PIN, dial *PORT, or use the myAT&T app or myAT&T online portal. FirstNet and Family plan members must use the app or online portal in order to transfer. Be sure to not disconnect your AT&T service before requesting your Number Transfer PIN or you’ll have to reactivate your phone number with AT&T.
- Additional Information
- Due to recent changes in their number transfer process, AT&T has added fraud protection to all accounts, and will send you a text to confirm your transfer request. All you need to do is reply to this text in order for your number to be released.
- AT&T employees can’t generate a Number Transfer PIN on your behalf, so please don’t bother trying to get one via their customer service line.
