Congrats. The fact that you’re reading this suggests you’ve realized how rude overpriced wireless is and thinking about making the switch to Mint. You’ll probably want to bring your current phone number along too…which is super easy, btw.

Transfer your number to Mint Mobile in three easy foxing steps

1. Make sure your phone and number can transfer to the Mint side
2. Grab details from your current carrier (via our A to Z list below of how to transfer your number by carrier)
   1. Log in to your account with your previous carrier, or give them a call.
   2. Locate your account number.
   3. Get your PIN or Number Transfer PIN (depending on the carrier) associated with your account.
   4. Make sure you know the billing address including ZIP code.
3. Activate on mintmobile.com/activate

Tips for transferring your phone number to Mint Mobile

Don’t worry, it’s much easier to understand than crypto.

1. Keep your current service’s SIM card in so you won’t miss any calls or texts (even the ones you want to miss on purpose). 
2. Once we send you confirmation that your transfer is complete, make sure your new Mint Mobile SIM card is in your phone to continue to receive calls and texts to your number. 
3. Remember: checking eligibility doesn’t affect your current service. You can check as many numbers as you need to without interrupting your service. Heck, check your friends’, too and then refer them to Mint if they’re eligible.

How to transfer your number by carrier (A to Z list)

A

AT&T Wireless

• Account number
  • To find your account number, look in the top-right corner of your bill, or go to myAT&T Profile in your myAT&T app or on a mobile browser and scroll to “My linked accounts.”
• PIN number
  • To request your Number Transfer PIN, sign in to your myAT&T app, go to “More,” then “Manage Profiles, People & Permissions,” then “Transfer Phone Number” and select “Request A New PIN.”
  • FirstNet and Family plan members must use the app or online portal in order to transfer. Be sure to not disconnect your AT&T service before requesting your number transfer PIN or you’ll have to reactivate your phone number with AT&T.
• Additional Information
  • Don’t disconnect your AT&T line until after your number is moved. Due to recent changes in their number transfer process, AT&T has added fraud protection to all accounts, and will send you a text to confirm your transfer request. All you need to do is reply to this text in order for your number to be released.
  • AT&T employees can’t generate a number transfer PIN on your behalf, so please don’t bother trying to get one via their customer service line.

AT&T Prepaid

• Account number
  • Contact AT&T Prepaid at 1-800-901-9878 for assistance.

  • A transfer PIN is not needed
• Additional Information

  • It’s the same PIN you use when you access your Google Voice voicemail.
• Additional Information
  • When you unlock your Google Voice number, it costs $3 USD. But if your number was originally ported in from another carrier, there’s no charge.

GoSmart Mobile

• Account number
  • It’s your 10-digit GoSmart Mobile phone number. Or contact GoSmart Mobile at 877-582-7788.
• PIN number
  • It’s the same PIN you use when contacting GoSmart Mobile.
  • Set one up by calling 611 from your GoSmart Mobile phone number, then say “No” to “refill,” then select “Manage my account,” then “change my account PIN.”

If the primary account holder is transferred out first, then other users on the account have to then make an account with T-Mobile, set up billing, and then request a transfer pin.

*Important: If you don’t know your pin number, you can reset it by going to vzw.com/PIN and sign in to your My Verizon account. Enter the new account PIN and then re-type the new account PIN in the designated box. Click Submit to confirm. You’ve successfully created your account PIN. You will get a notification that a PIN has been set up.

Verizon Prepaid

• Account number
