How do I switch from Boost Mobile to Mint Mobile?

Whether you want to make a clean break from Boost Mobile and get a new phone number or phone or keep your current phone and number, switching to Mint Mobile is easy as f*! (we said fox). Let’s get into it.

1. Bring your own phone (BYOP) or get a new one
   • Bring your own phone: To BYOP, make sure your phone is paid off, unlocked and compatible with our network. 
   • Buy a new phone: We offer all the latest and greatest smartphones with good deals when you bundle them with a Mint Mobile phone plan. The hardest part will be picking which pocket to carry your phone in.
     
2. Bring your phone number or get a new one
   • If you want to bring your phone number with you, you can transfer your current number to Mint Mobile from Boost Mobile during activation.
   • Make sure your Boost Mobile account is still active until the transfer is complete. If you cancel your Boost account early, you could lose your phone number permanently. If you’re moving multiple lines over, make sure to move the primary account holder’s number first.
   • You may also need to disable Number Lock on your phone number to bring it over. To do that, contact Boost customer service to authorize the transfer (this often requires two-factor authentication).

You’ll need your Boost billing address (with ZIP code), account number and Number Transfer Pin to transfer the number over.

• To find your account number, open the app, log in and tap the account icon or “View Details” to see your account number.
• To find your Number Transfer Pin, dial 833-502-6678 for customer service
• If you want a new phone number, all you need to do is provide us with your home ZIP code at activation so we can generate one for you based on your location.

3. Choose your plan

4. Download the Mint Mobile app and activate your plan
   • Once you have your Mint Mobile SIM kit in hand (for physical SIMs) or your eSIM ACT code from your order confirmation email, go to the app and select “Activate your SIM card.”
     • If you’re bringing over multiple lines, you can build your Mint Family in the app.The app can help you monitor data usage, make plan changes, and help you earn renewal credits by rescuing other friends from Boost Mobile via our Refer a Friend program.
