How do I create a Mint Family?

Any existing Mint Mobile user can create a Mint Family with as few as 2 lines (max of 5) by inviting other active users via the Mint Mobile app or Mint Mobile website. Primary account holders get to keep an eye on everyone else’s usage, approve data add-ons and make all payments and plan changes.

Each member of your family gets their own plan length and data amount so you share savings, not data. Learn how to create a Mint Family in our how-to video or instructions below.

If you’re the primary account holder

If you create a Mint Family, then you’ll become the primary account holder. That means you can manage everyone’s accounts easily through the Mint Mobile app or the Mint Mobile website. As a primary account holder, you can:

• Pay for plan renewals
• Add data
• Track monthly data usage of family plan members

Things to know before creating a Mint Family

Here are a few things to keep in mind before you start your Mint Family:

• The primary account holder manages the account and can invite up to 4 family members (note: they must be existing Mint subscribers).
  • Invitations must be accepted within 24 hours.
  • The primary account holder can be transferred to someone else after set-up.
• A valid credit card on file is necessary
• Auto Renewal must be turned on before creating a Mint Family

How do I create a Mint Family?

Once you’re ready, here’s how to start your Mint Family:

Creating a Mint Family through the app

1. Log into your Mint Mobile app
2. Go to Account
3. Scroll down to My Mint Family
4. Click Create
5. Click Start a Mint Family
   • Here you can see how Mint Family works. Invite your family members. They must accept within 24 hours. After that, you can manage your family member’s account
6. Add your family member information
7. Set up Auto Renewal
   • To finish creating your Mint Family, Auto Renewal needs to be enabled
8. Send the invite and share the unique code on your screen
   • To accept your invitation, your family member will need to enter the unique 6-digit code they receive via SMS. It expires in 24 hours

Creating a Mint Family through the website

1. Log into the Mint Mobile website
2. Under My Plan, go to Mint Family
3. Auto-Renewal must be enabled before creating a Mint Family
4. Click +Add Member to my Mint Family
5. Add your family member’s information for their SMS invite
6. Add a Payment Method or continue
