If you’re activating your eSIM through the Mint app, it will walk you through the installation. If you’re activating through the web, it’s pretty easy, and we walk you through the steps. Once you purchase your plan and select an ‘eSIM delivery’ then you can choose to either activate your plan right away, or activate later in two easy steps…
1. If you’ve scanned the QR code, but the screen is frozen on ‘Cellular Plan’, close the window on your phone, and rescan the QR Code.
2. If you’re using an Apple phone, scan the code with your camera. If you’re using an Android phone, you must navigate to your settings to scan a QR code.
There are a few easy ways to check if Mint Mobile is the perfect fit for you…
1. Check the coverage map to verify service in your area. Please be aware that outside factors like terrain, building structures, weather, and other conditions may also interfere with the actual service available.
2. If you are bringing your own phone, make sure it is compatible with Mint Mobile.
3. You want to pay for the data you use and save money on your current monthly phone plan.
4. You want customer service there for you when you need it.
5. You want to be a part of the best community in wireless.

Once you’re ready to make it official, all you need to do is select which plan fits your needs and upgrade your plan directly in the Mint Mobile app. To transfer your current phone number to Mint, simply select the option ‘Transfer My Number’ when you purchase your plan.
Here are a few things you will need from your old carrier:
1) Your current account number. This can be found on your billing statement, or just hit them up to get it.
2) The corresponding password, pass code or PIN code number.
3)The billing address associated with the account.
We’ve also got a helpful video to walk you through it!
If you forget to transfer your number during this activation process, no worries. Just call Care team and they will help you transfer your number to Mint.
Note: Most transfers complete in a few hours, but if your information is submitted incorrectly, your phone number could take up to 48 hours to complete and landlines can take up to 5 business days. If you have any questions regarding your transfer, call customer support at 800-683-7392 or chat with us at mintmobile.com/chat.
Once the number has been successfully transferred, we will we send you a text and email confirmation. Aight? FYI, Mint does not charge a fee for transferring your number, but your less-cool, old school carrier might.
Yes, you can request a new number during the SIM card activation process. You will need to enter your ZIP code and choose the option, “Get a new number.” A new number will auto generate based on the ZIP code and availability in your particular area code.
Any resemblance your new number bears to the geographical coordinates of the Lost City of Atlantis is purely coincidental.
Option 1: Check out how much you’re using right now! Log into your current account and look for the section on your monthly data usage.
Option 2: You can go to your phone’s settings (Settings > Cellular Data for iPhone, or for Android Settings Menu > Data Usage > Select Dates for Android). Do a little hunting around and see what you use.
Option 3: We got you. For a rough idea of how much data you need to check out our handy blog.
Does a fox sleep in the woods? With our Bring Your Own Phone (BYOP) program, you can easily get Mint Mobile on your current phone; all you need to do is switch out the SIM card.
Compatible BYOP devices include:
– Most unlocked, GSM-network phones
– Unlocked AT&T, T-Mobile, Cricket Wireless, Simple Mobile, and Straight Talk phones
– Most phones with a SIM card
You may need to hit up your carrier to unlock your phone (and major Mint savings).
If you’re still not sure if your phone will work with Mint Mobile, visit willmyphonework.net. Once there, enter your phone’s brand and model, U.S. for country and, under “Carrier,” choose our partner company, Ultra Mobile. (This, however, does not guarantee if the phone is unlocked or that it will work with our service).
Nope. We are in stores but we don’t own any stores. That’s one big reason we can keep our costs down and pass the savings on to you.
But that doesn’t mean you can’t ask for help if you need it. Our customer care humans are available 7 days a week 5AM-7PM PST at 800-683-7392 or you can chat with us at mintmobile.com/chat.
We offer different shipping options depending on how urgently you need your new phone service. Choose between 2-3 day shipping (for FREE), overnight or if you are in a rush we have same day delivery (CA ZIP codes only).
Any orders placed after 2pm CT will be processed and shipped the following business day. Unfortunately, we do not process and ship orders on Sunday or public holidays. Even foxes need a rest sometimes.
Once your order has been shipped we will send you a tracking number, which you can monitor obsessively by clicking the link in the email!
Check our coverage map to verify service in your area. The icons in green will show the expected coverage in that location (outdoors, indoor residential, etc.) for certain phones. Enter multiple addresses/ZIP codes to check all the areas where you live, work and play.
Please be aware that outside factors like terrain, building structures, weather and other conditions may also interfere with the actual service available.
Any doubts, then you can test us out with our See for Yourself Kit, available exclusively through the Mint Mobile app. You’ll get a 7-day trial to test where you live, work and play. When you love us then you can purchase a full plan directly from the app.
Depends on your device’s make and model. All plans come with a 3-in-1 SIM card that includes mini, micro and nano sizes to fit your phone. Just punch the size that will fit your phone and use the handy sim ejector tool that we gave you to pop out the SIM tray.
Not sure where your SIM card is located? Check your phone manual or just ask Google for the location of the SIM card in your phone and which size you’ll need.
If you need help inserting the SIM, the Mint Fox will talk you through it step-by-step in this instructional video.
When you order a Mint plan, we give you a second SIM kit – the Share the Love Kit. This is to pass on to a friend who is overpaying on wireless and who should be on Mint. Friends help friends save. The kit includes a 7-day free trial of Mint with 250 minutes of talk, 250 texts and 250MB of data. When your friend loves us and purchases a full plan, you will get renewal credit for your next plan and your friend will get $15 of credit to use on their next plan renewal. Sweet, right?
No. Your service must be active with your original carrier in order for them to release your number. Otherwise you could create a rupture in the space-time continuum and everyone will suddenly be walking around in platform shoes and polyester jumpsuits.
