When it comes to communications, times certainly have changed. Years ago, entire families shared one landline number so it was common to have it memorized. But nowadays, your phone’s contact list has made it unnecessary to remember phone numbers… even your own. There’s no shame in that. When you got a new number, you probably texted everyone “this is my new number,” and called it a day. So they saw it, saved it, and forgot it all the same. So what happens when you actually need to know your phone number? This blog will walk you through finding your phone number quickly whenever the occasion arises.
How to find my phone number on iPhone
As long as your iPhone is on and operational, there are two easy ways to locate your phone number in just a few clicks.
Find your phone number in your iPhone’s Settings app
- Go into your Settings app (the one that looks like a gear)
- Select “Phone”
- Your number should be listed next to “My Number”
Find your phone number in your iPhone’s Phone app

- Select “My card” at the top of your Contacts list

How do I check my phone number on my Android phone?
If your Android phone is on and in working order, you can easily find your phone number one of two ways.
Find your phone number in your Android phone’s Settings app
- Go into your Settings app
- Scroll down and select “About phone” or “About device”
- Your phone number should be listed next to “Phone number”
Find your phone number in your Android phone’s Contacts app

Other ways to find your phone number
If you can’t find your phone number using the steps above, there are a few other ways to seek it out that should work for both iPhones and Android phones:
- Check out a copy of your phone bill or wireless contract; your number should be printed on it. The specific location will vary by wireless carrier.
- If you’re logged in to your wireless carrier’s mobile app, you should be able to open it and find your number listed under your account. For example, Mint Mobile subscribers can open the Mint app, click on “Account” and their number is posted at the top of the screen, right under their name.
- If all else fails, you can always call or text a friend and just say “Hey… what’s my phone number?” (Maybe they need you to tell them theirs too, they were just afraid to ask.)
