Parents can purchase any Mint data plan (6GB, 17GB, 23GB or Unlimited) to stay connected to their kid and have added peace of mind. You, the parent, will activate and manage your kid’s account and any changes or updates to the account will be communicated to you. No marketing messages will be delivered to your kid. See full terms here. How do I purchase a Mint Kids plan? A Mint Kids plan requires adult consent including a $0.01 charge/refund to verify that an adult is activating the line. You can purchase a Mint Kids plan online by visiting the Mint Kids page and selecting a data plan. You may purchase up to 5 Mint Kids plans at a time and if you purchase a plan through another part of the website, you can also activate any Mint plan as a Mint Kids plan. During activation, you must select that you are activating the plan for your kid. How do I activate a Mint Kids plan? To activate your Mint Kids plan, you will follow the activation instructions in the email you receive after your purchase, or that appear on the SIM kit you receive in the mail or purchase at a retailer. At the beginning of the activation process, you will be prompted to select whether you are activating for yourself or for a kid. Select “kid” and follow the prompts to continue activating your Mint Kids plan, then install the eSIM or physical SIM card. After that, your kid’s phone plan should be good to go. If you don’t see the prompt above, you will see a checkbox on the ‘It’s phone number time’ page, which you should simply check to activate this SIM as a kid’s line. Can I bring an existing number to Mint and use it on a Mint Kids plan? Yes, you can bring your current phone number and use it for your kid’s plan. During activation, make sure to select that you are activating the plan for a kid, and follow the prompts around bringing your existing phone number. Adding a Mint Kids account to a Mint Family To add a kid to a Mint Family, parents need to have their own Mint Mobile account and be the primary account holder of the Mint Family who sends the invite to the kid’s account. A parent can monitor the kid’s data use and make payments right from their own account. The parent needs to be the one who accepts the invite, since they’re also the one that needs to manage the kid’s account. Learn more about how to create a Mint Family. Making payments for a Mint Kids account The parent needs to be the one logging into the kid’s account to make payments. You can also enable auto-renew for seamless renewals and payments.
