15 Ways To Save This Mintmas Season

It’s that time of year again. You’ve got holiday cheer flowing through your veins, and now you’ve got a fox ton of presents to buy. Luckily for you, we aren’t only experts on saving on wireless.

We know a thing or two about saving on gifts this holiday season.

1. Check Out Our Mintmas Giveaways From December 10th-25th

In case you haven’t heard, Mint Mobile is celebrating the holidays with our 15 days of Mintmas. Check our social media accounts on either Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter for a chance to win our holiday prizes. We’re having a real snow-ball giving out free stuff.

2. Hunt For Deals Online

Even if you missed out on Black Friday or Cyber Monday, there are still plenty of deals left online where you can save big (cough* Mint Mobile 3 Month, 12GB plan *cough). Sites like livingsocial.com or groupon.com have all kinds of online shopping deals and coupons for gifts and other local events.

3. Buy In Bulk

Not only is buying in bulk our forte, it’s also a great way to save this holiday season. You can get great deals on holiday gift baskets, flowers, or restaurant gift cards from places like Sam’s Club or Costco. You’ll be getting a ton of great gifts, and maybe keep a little something for yourself too.

4. Cut Back On Extras For The Month

Let’s be honest, we can make a lot of unnecessary purchases that seem harmless, like fancy coffees, giant foam fingers, unlimited data plans, et cetera. Gift-giving can really take its toll, so save your money for the people that matter, and take a hard pass on the things that don’t. We know how much you think you want that fancy fruitcake at Starbucks, but, trust us, you really don’t.

5. Set A Budget

We know what you’re thinking—the feeling is mutual. You’re feeling extra cheery this holiday season, barely resisting the urge to impulse buy your friend that special thing to show them how much you care. But setting a budget is important. You and your wallet with thank us later.

6. Get In Touch With Your DIY Side

Everyone loves a gift from the heart, and nothing’s more heartfelt than something you made yourself. Making a gift is inexpensive in the long run, and can be a fun way of showing someone how much you care.

7. Have A Big Family? Secret Santa Is Your Friend

Ah, Secret Santa. It’s practically a surefire way to have a perfect gift exchange. Everyone makes a list, everyone sets a budget, and everyone gets a gift. Whether you want to do wacky gag gifts or wholesome presents, a Secret Santa is a great way to keep up with the holiday spirit.

8. Give Group Gifts

You know that one friend in a group that you never know what to get? Or that other friend that has super expensive taste? Well, teamwork makes the dream work! Pool your friends together to get something you wouldn’t normally buy.

9. Use Search And App Technology To Help You

Always look for coupons online! Lots of sites have coupon codes waiting to be used from a simple google search. Browser extensions like Honey can search out coupon codes for you automatically, and help you save even more.

10. Give A Personalized Coupon Book

On a scale of 1-10, coupon books are a 10/10 when it comes to wholesome gift giving. The most precious gift you can give someone is your time. Promising someone a meal out, a movie night, or a day trip in a coupon they can use at their leisure will mean a lot to them.

11. Visit Discounted Stores

Tons of stores have discounts during the holiday season. Online shopping might lure you in from the comfort of your home, but you never know what crazy deal your local Saint Nick hid around the corner.

12. Snow Globetrotting

If you happen to live where it snows, then there are already tons of things you can do with your friends. Whether you make snow angels, go sledding, or make a snowman, the snow offers plenty of opportunities to have fun with your friends. You could even have a snowball fight or two.

And, if you want to do allll the holiday things, this is a great way to enjoy some frugal festive activities:

13. Go To A Tree Lighting

Nothing gets you more in the mood for the holidays than a good ole’ tree lighting. Being surrounded by friends and strangers and watching everyone’s happy faces as the tree lights up in the middle of town is a feeling that can’t be beat.

14. Celebrate With A Potluck

Holiday parties are the best this time of year, but hosting one can get expensive. If you’re celebrating with friends or family this year, make sure everyone brings a little something to put under the tree…er, in your stomach.

15. Volunteer At A Soup Kitchen

While many feelings of holiday cheer involve friends and family, it is always nice to give back to those less fortunate. Volunteering at a soup kitchen is a great way to help others and provide a service to your community. Plus, it’s kinda nice knowing that you made a difference in someone’s life.

Hope we’ve made gift-giving and getting into the holiday spirit a little easier this season. We wish you all a Merry Mintmas!
