How switching to Mint Mobile relieved this parent's budget-related stress

Are you tired of hearing about inflation yet? Probably not as tired as millions of Americans are of being affected by it. Stay-at-home parent Blue, from Nashville, TN, was one such person who needed to find a way to save money without sacrificing the essentials… like wireless service.

In this article

Looking to save on her phone bill, Blue found Mint

While analyzing her monthly budget, Blue decided to explore other wireless options to see how much she could save. But Mint seemed almost too good to be true.

“So as I was looking into Mint, I was thinking, like, ‘OK, what’s the catch?’ Like, there’s gotta be something wrong with it. But it really is as good as it looks.”
How does Mint do it? We offer plans starting at the equivalent of $15/mo with bulk purchase options, where the more months you buy, the more you save. (Not having a phone bill for up to a year is a nice bonus.) And while other carriers throw in useless add-ons to justify their absurd prices, we focus on quality wireless service, and that’s it.

Switching to Mint positively affected her budget in other ways too

Getting premium wireless at such a low price helped ease financial strain in other areas of Blue’s budget as well.

“Saving all that extra money is a huge help with, like, groceries and daycare. It’s just lifted a lot of weight off my shoulders and has been a huge stress reliever. I’m very happy with it.”

Obviously, we love saving people money on wireless service, but we also love helping people figure out what to do with all that savings, too.

There are good phone plan deals… then there’s Mint Mobile

After switching to Mint Mobile, the difference between what Blue was paying versus other “affordable” phone plans became even clearer.

“I was walking through a store, and a guy approached me, and he was like ‘How much do you pay for your phone plan every month? Guarantee I can get you a better price.’ And I had just switched to Mint, but I was like ‘Sure, yeah, alright, go for it.’ And he was like ‘Would you be interested in $70 a month?’”

FYI, our Unlimited plan is currently the equivalent of $30/month ($90 for three months of service).

The interaction inspired Blue to share her story on social (which we always appreciate).

“I just thought it was so funny, so I was like, ‘You know what, I’m going to make a quick little TikTok.’ Posted it, got home, and it was getting a lot more traction than I thought it would.”

The response to the video was almost too big (2.1M views and counting as of July 2024).

“The video got taken down temporarily, and I got a strike on my account because it was like, ‘you didn’t disclose that this was an ad.’ And it wasn’t an ad. I’m just a very happy customer.”
She’s not the only happy customer. With affordable premium wireless on the nation’s largest 5G network, and programs like Mint Family and Refer A Friend that can help you save even more, it’s easy to see why anyone looking to reshape their budget would come to the Mint side.
